Summer Makeup Essentials

My go-to summer makeup look is sun-kissed and glowy. I strive to look as though I spent a week in the South of France or the Amalfi Coast. A girl can have goals, right?

As much as I love trying new products, these are some of my essentials for Summer 2022.

Tinted Moisturizer

My absolute ride or die is the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve used it for years now and it never disappoints. It feels weightless on the skin and provides the perfect glowy finish with light coverage. Plus, it has 30 SPF, which is a must for this desert-dweller. 

Concealer

Tried and true, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is a cult-favorite for a reason. It blends seamlessly into the skin and never cakes up on me. I use it for brightening my under eyes and for spot concealing blemishes. I’ll either use my ring finger or the Sephora Collection Pro Concealer Brush #57 to tap it in.

Bronzer

There’s no looking sun-kissed without some kind of bronzer. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer is incredible for a lustrous finish that actually brings light to your face. I don’t know how they do it, especially given that it’s a powder, but it brings a tanned luminosity to the skin that’s unbeatable. 

Mascara 

I received a sample of the Chanel Inimitable Mascara and am obsessed. It may just be the little black dress of mascaras for me. It perfectly separates, volumizes and lifts lashes. Its precision and versatility means I can use it for day or evening. One coat gives you a natural look and two or more amps up the drama.

Lip Pencil

In summer, I’ll forgo lipstick for something a little lighter. Lip pencils mixed with a lip balm are my BFF. I’m currently loving Dior’s Contour Lip Liner in Premiere. It’s the perfect summertime pink and you can control the color intensity you desire since it’s a pencil. Top it off with some lip balm and you’re good to go.
